The management of The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, has expressed profound appreciation to one of its distinguished alumni, Engr. Adekola Lamidi, for his generous donation of a complete solar power solution aimed at improving electricity supply within the institution.
According to a letter signed by the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr. G. O. Soko, the donation comprised a 12KVA inverter, a 17.5KWH lithium battery, nine units of 650W solar panels, and other installation accessories.
The institution described the donation as a remarkable demonstration of commitment to the growth and development of the Polytechnic, noting that the gesture reflects Engr. Lamidi’s enduring dedication to giving back to his alma mater.
The Polytechnic disclosed that the donated equipment has been successfully received, installed, and put into operation. Management stated that the solar power facilities are already contributing significantly to improved power supply stability and enhanced operational efficiency within the designated facility.
Speaking on behalf of the institution, the Registrar commended Engr. Lamidi’s magnanimity and urged other alumni to emulate such exemplary support for educational development.
“The donation is a clear testament to his dedication to institutional advancement and serves as an inspiration to both current students and members of the alumni community,” the statement noted.
The Federal Polytechnic Offa further expressed its gratitude for the alumnus’ goodwill and pledged to continue fostering productive partnerships with distinguished graduates and stakeholders in pursuit of the institution’s vision and mission.
The development highlights the growing role of alumni contributions in supporting infrastructure development and improving learning conditions in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
