The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon Jelili Sulaimon today, Wednesday 31st July 2024 celebrates the graduation of 100 pupils of the primary schools in Alimosho Local Government after a successful completion of a 6 months compulsory vocational training which has been integrated to their curriculum while in basic 5 and 6.
The event took place at the local government Secretariat in Akowonjo in the presence of community leaders, local government staffs and the parents of the graduating pupils.
Pupils across the primary schools in Alimosho Local Government which include Akowonjo Primary school, Ebenezer Primary school, Shasha Primary school, African Church Primary school, Akowonjo, Abati Primary school and Rauf Aregbesola Primary were given an equal chance of being trained on different vocations which include Tailoring/Fashion designing, barbing, shoe making and hair dressing.
At the end of the 6 months training, the pupils were assessed and the successful ones which numbered 100 pupils were listed for graduation.
The graduating pupils, in affirmation of their efficiency show-cased their ability by plaiting hair, making shoes, sewing a dress and barbing right at the event.
Encouraged by their reported performance which has now been proven right, the Council Boss presented a certificate duly signed by him and a set of complete work tools to each of the 100 pupils.
In her speech, the Executive Secretary of Alimosho Local Government Education Authority, Hon (Mrs) Airat Alamu affirmed that the event is the first it’s kinds in Lagos State as a whole and a landslide step to the progress of our pupils and consequently our community.
Others who spoke appreciated the Council Boss for his unrelenting effort towards the growth of the younger generation and creation of a better future for them.
