Gbenga Daniel Rallies Support for Dapo Abiodun on Infrastructure as Partnership Delivers Renewed Hope in Ogun
IJEBU NORTH EAST, OGUN STATE – September 27, 2025 — In a clear display of unity and collaboration, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) has called for stronger synergy between federal and state authorities in accelerating infrastructure development across Ogun State, reaffirming his partnership with Governor Dapo Abiodun in delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots.
Speaking during the Midterm Community Assessment and Review Tour of the BATOGD Movement in Ijebu North East Local Government Area, Senator Daniel reiterated his commitment to development-focused governance and commended Governor Abiodun for his responsiveness to the challenges facing local communities.
The event, held at the Equity Resort, brought together stakeholders, community leaders, and residents to assess ongoing constituency projects and receive empowerment support — a gesture that underscored Daniel’s long-standing reputation for people-centred leadership.
“Now more than ever,” Senator Daniel said, “we must deepen the collaboration between federal and state governments to ensure that our people feel the impact of democracy. This is not a time for political rivalry — it is a time to build together.”
Joint Development: Federal Projects, State Support
While clarifying his role in attracting federal projects, Daniel emphasized that execution often requires alignment with state agencies. He urged the Ogun State Government to facilitate, not frustrate, the realization of federally funded initiatives in local communities.
Citing the Paddy Arikawe Road in Sagamu, Daniel acknowledged that the road was originally developed under his administration as Governor in 2004 but had since suffered neglect until it was included in his recent constituency projects. He encouraged the state to complement such federal interventions rather than view them through partisan lenses.
Support for TASUED Federal Conversion: A Shared Vision
Senator Daniel also highlighted the recent approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to convert Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) into a federal university, describing it as a “monumental achievement” for Ogun State. He called on the Abiodun administration to support the proposal for four satellite campuses to address space constraints at the Ijagun main campus and spread educational access across the region.
“These satellite campuses,” he noted, “are designed to reflect our strategic development goals — including skills acquisition, health sciences, artificial intelligence, and innovation. They are also a tribute to the deep roots of the First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, who hails from this very soil of Ijebu North East.”
Urgent Appeal for Road Rehabilitation
In a passionate appeal to the state government, Senator Daniel presented a list of 11 critical road networks requiring urgent rehabilitation in Ijebu North East, describing them as economic lifelines for farmers, traders, and students.
“These roads are not political — they are essential,” he said. “Governor Abiodun has shown capacity before, and we believe he will act swiftly to address these concerns for the good of our people.”
The list includes major routes such as:
Atan – Imewuro – Ilumerin Circular Road (15km)
Odogbe – Oke Agbonle – Odokalaba Road
Post Office Junction Isonyin – Erunwon (10km)
Biodun Onanuga Way, Luba Road Junction (3.5km)
…and others across the LGA.
Empowerment with Impact
The event also featured a robust empowerment programme, with dozens of constituents receiving tools, grants, and support to improve their livelihoods. A standout moment came when Mrs. Solagbade Alice, a widow from Eruwon, received a sewing machine that will allow her daughter to begin a tailoring business.
“This is not the first time Otunba Daniel has changed our lives,” she said through tears. “Even when my children were in school, he provided books after my husband passed. Today, he answered my prayers again.”
The empowerment drive aligns with the BATOGD Movement 2027, a platform launched to mobilize grassroots support for President Tinubu’s policies and foster inclusive development.
