The Dangote Foundation has commenced the distribution of foods and clothes worth about N150 million to internally displaced persons and other less privileged people in Borno State.
This is part of the gifts, the Foundation owned by billionaire businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, gives to poor members of the society during the Ramadan.
Flagging of the distribution in Maiduguri on Monday, the Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima said Dangote has been tremendously generous and supportive to the people of the state.
He said that in addition to the food items that was donated by the Foundation for the IDPs and less privileged during the Ramadan period, Alhaji Aliko Dangote had supported the State with building materials worth one billion Naira in the past.
He said the building materials were used in the building of a massive estate, Dangote village, along Bama Road that is billed for commissioning on 18th June, 2018.
Speaking at the occasion, the representative of Dangote Foundation, Alhaji Musa Bala disclosed that the President of Dangote Group of Companies, Aliko Dangote was making the donation in the spirit of Ramadan Kareem to the less privileged members of the society especially those affected by the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.
He also commended Governor Kashim Shettima for his relentless support and cooperation to the activities of the Foundation. He asked for the judicious distribution of the food and non food items.
The SEMA Executive Chairperson Hajiya Yabawa kolo was full of appreciations to the Dangote Foundation for always coming to the aid of the people of the state during every Ramadan period and equally thanked Governor Kashim Shettima for his support.
