The Ministry of Transportation has put together an inter-agency team to unlock traffic gridlock in the metropolis. The team which comprises officers drawn  from Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), Task Force, Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), would commence operation on the Ikorodu road axis covering Ojota, Ketu and Mile 12 in the first instance.

Briefing the team on the importance of the exercise, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Sewedo  Oluseyi Whenu said the exercise is to complement the state-wide efforts of the LASTMA management in ensuring that all impediments and hinderances on the road and highway are removed so as to ensure free flow of traffic and reduce the man-hour loss expereinced by motorists in the State.

He therefore called on all motorists especially commercial passengers bus drivers to obey all traffic rules and regulations as all traffic offenders would be penalised accordingly.

Finally, he said the State Government would no longer tolerate the impunity and lawlessness being experienced now on the road.
