The Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria Lagos State Apostle Alexander Bamgbola have described the Lagos State Governor MrAkinwunmi Ambode as a God fearing leader who caters for and protects the interest of all religions.
Bamgbola spoke at the Chapel of Christ the Light Alausa, Ikeja, during the bi-annual public lecture organised by the National Christian Conscience Group, in conjunction with all Christian Organisation in Lagos State to endorse Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for second term.
Bamgbola expressed that God has been faithful to Lagos State since the era of the Military Administrator Mobolaji Johnson to former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu till Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who is performing well in office.
Former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos on Religious Matters Rev. Dr. Sam Ogedengbe said the gathering was to endorse the second term ambition of the action Governor of Lagos Akinwunmi Ambode whose sterling performance eminently qualifies him for a return ticket to the governorship seat.
Ogedengbe said the theme of the event “Matters arising in the political landscape of Nigeria: The Church’s Response’ has been carefully chosen because Christians find no pleasure in bloodshed, and corruption in the country.
He charged those that are engaged in the acts to stop it, knowing that love, peace and righteousness exalt a nation.
The National Chairman for Christian Conscience Group Elder Enock Kolapomoye Ajiboso said the group which was established in 2013 to encourage Christians to partake in politics, to make it clean from dirt, because they say Politics is dirty which makes Christians run away from politics.
He said Christian are happy that a Christian like Governor Ambode is in charge in Lagos and midwifing a prosperous state.
The Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Home Affairs Mrs Toyin Awoseyi in her goodwill message charged all Christians to encourage families to participate in politics and sanitize the process of governance.
The guest lecturer Dr.Wilson Badejo urged all Christians to always seek the face of God and participate actively in politics in the interest of the future and for a prosperous state.
